Heeello!

For this month’s edition of Monthly Quick Recipes, I’m sharing a super decadent chocolate waffle recipe. It’s far from a traditional belgian waffle, but nonetheless delicious – and most importantly, very quick to whip up.

I’m not going to bother you any longer – we’re busy around here! so I’m heading straight to the recipe. All you need is a few simple ingredients and a waffle iron. Go! ♥

↠  yields 6 to 8 waffles

  • ½ cup spelt flour
  • ½ cup kamut flour
  • ½ cup oat flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ cup rice milk
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup raw cane sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp muscle powder mix

  • 3 tbsp date syrup
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  1. Preheat the waffle iron.
  2. Whisk together the rice milk and apple cider vinegar and set aside.
  3. Sift flours, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl.
  4. Add the raw cane sugar and protein powder to the flour and mix.
  5. Pour the rice milk into the dry ingredients and combine thoroughly.
  6. Pour two or three heaped tablespoons of batter on the hot waffle iron, close it and cook for roughly one minute or until crispy.
  7. To make the sauce, just mix the date syrup and cocoa powder very well until combined.
  8. Serve the waffles hot with fresh strawberries and the chocolate sauce.
